In 2007, I received the news that soon I would become a grandmother and decided since my children received quilts from their grandmother, I’d better get busy and keep the quilt tradition going. Off to the quilt store I went. I picked out a pattern, fabric, and the necessary quilting tools. My mother had desperately tried to teach me to sew. After many years of fixing my mistakes she gave up and so did I! I really didn’t think I’d finish the quilt, but I knew I must try!
To the amazement of the family – I finished the quilt and really enjoyed it. Oh no, I was addicted!!! "If you don't have the right tools, it's difficult to complete." I was introduced to many new and wonderful tools. I opened my on line quilt store in 2009. I concentrated my business on using the right tools, teaching new quilting techniques, and pattern design. I travel the US for quilt shows, trunk shows, guild meetings, teaching and demonstrating easy techniques using the right tools. In 2014, I made the business decision to downsize my retail business and concentrate on my wholesale business. I accepted an independent sales position with a fabric manufacturer and began traveling in Minnesota and Iowa selling fabric, patterns and tools.
At this point, I have to pay tribute to those people who helped me reach my success and help capture my dreams. The first was my husband, who passed away recently. He never stopped supporting me through my adventures, mistakes, and fantastic success.
I can’t say enough about my wonderful assistant, my great mom. Without her, I wouldn’t have the business I have today. Thanks!!
